He is the moment. It's exciting because you come into a season with a bunch of preconceived notions about what a particular player's ceiling might be, but it had been a long time since we had so many eyes on the Detroit baseball team. A huge reason for that was their incredible run down the stretch this season, but it all started and ended with Tarik Skubal. Expectations were astronomically high for him coming into the campaign, and he was simply remarkable all year. He's probably a bit drained from all the hype and media coverage, not to say that it isn't all justified and deserved, because it is, but no matter what, I always appreciate him taking the time to hop on for an interview.
I don't know what the future has in store for Tarik Skubal. I want him to be here for the remainder of his career, but on a personal level, there are not many Tigers whose presence within the organization I appreciate more than his. We watched this guy come up through the system and make his debut during the Covid year, and he transformed himself into one of the best pitchers we've seen in Detroit. To say that I was able to interact with him is truly one of the highlights of my career, and I couldn't be more appreciative of him taking the time. Check out the interview, and don't forget to subscribe on YouTube. I love you guys.
